Tracksuit Society spoke to Abi Dickson aka abidickson_x about her love for tracksuits, her fashion style and her favourite brands.
What do you love about tracksuits?
I’ve always chosen comfort first!! I literally live in tracksuits, and I love how I can still put an outfit together whilst being comfortable!!
What’s your current favourite tracksuit?
I’m loving Hidden Cult tracksuits at the minute! They fit so well and they’re bringing out so many colours at the minute! Definitely my current favourite.
What’s your favourite brand dropping tracksuits right now?
Again I’d probably say Hidden Cult but Clints also have unreal quality items.
What’s your favourite trainers to wear with a tracksuit?
I’m guilty of wearing the same trainers in rotation, but I always reach for my Travis Scott Olives or Phantoms, I feel like they go with so much!
What’s your favourite colour tracksuit to wear?
Grey 100%! There’s just something about a grey tracksuit with white trainers that works so well.
Describe your fashion style?
I literally just dress based on how I feel in the day! Some days it’s an oversized tracksuit, the next it’s baggy jeans and occasionally it’s girly! I’d say I sway more to the street style but definitely depends on the vibe!
What’s your opinion on the emergence of tracksuits in the luxury market?
I personally prefer to shop at upcoming brands rather than the luxury brands! There are so many new cool brands emerging and in my opinion I feel buying from them is more of a personal experience, especially if they only have limited stock, as you know not everyone is going to be wearing the same as you.
What details and quality standards make a tracksuit stand out for you?
I think the material for a start, definitely got to be the right thickness! I also love extra details like zip pockets! I think so many brands are also replicating each other, so I think anything that’s unique and fresh catches my eye more!
What’s your go to clothing piece to pair with your tracksuits?
I’m forever styling beanies with my tracksuits at the minute! I tend to pair the trainers and beanie to match colour wise!
What’s your current favourite photo of yourself styling a tracksuit?
Do you have any styling tips?
Wear what you want! You don’t have to always stick to one style, some days I wanna be girly the next I’ll dress like a boy, just be you.
Do you have any advice for a prospective fashion focused instagram account?
I’d say the same as the above, you don’t have to always follow trends. Also don’t be scared of posting your outfits just because you may not dress like someone else!
